You can not argue about it: the US of A is becoming a country of over weight people. The cure is simple: less calory intake, more calorie spend… A lot of people think that losing weight is difficult, but really the only difficult part about it is the self-control. If you can make some firm rules for yourself and stick with them, the rest of it is easy. Really, weight loss comes down to two things: what you eat, and how you exercise.

If you use low fat cooking, combined with daily exercise, everything will work out perfectly for you. Although good sensible low fat cooking and exercise will not necessarily lead you to shed pounds at the same rate as using the latest fad dieting will, you will lose weight, and you will keep it off. Low fat diet cooking, using a healthy mix of lean meat, vegetables, grains, and fruits, as well as good portion control, is the surest way to look and feel a great.

Low Fat Cooking In A Balanced Diet

If you read my previous posts, you’ve noticed that I am digging in the dieting fashions! Low carb recipes, low fat cooking and other forms of diets… we all know that our life style is not exactly very healthy. Like everybody I love cookies but I also love good fresh food every day and I try to cook a fresh meal every evening for my kids…

Though fat is a part of our daily nutrition intake, most people are prone to eat an excess amount of fat in their diets. Switching over to low fat cooking can help people reduce the amount of fat they eat, can help maintain a healthy body weight, can help prevent disease and may potentially increase one’s life span.

There are four simple ways that a person can immediately introduce low fat cooking in their diet. These are trimming the fat off meat, switching to low-fat dairy products, using butter or margarine sparingly and changing cooking methods from roasting or frying to steaming or stir-frying. A person should attempt to eat fewer eggs, cheese and other dairy products, and cut down on red meat and chicken. These foods are high in saturated fats and contribute to heart disease.

Get Some Low Carbohydrate Recipes

Have you ever heard of low carb recipes? In fact I do all the time. It’s like our society found some new hype… but is it worth it? Or they of any use or is this just another fashionable wave that’s going to pass by before we take another breath? Are you eating well and living right? One of the biggest issues now days concerns carbohydrates. Basically, too many of them are not good for you. In fact, there are many things that most of us consume on a daily basis that are not good for our bodies.

Take saturated fat, sodium and sugar for a few examples. The problem here lies in the servings. We Americans have far too large of servings. Heck, I don’t even think we know what the term means. It’s high time we got serious about eating right and living longer healthier lives. This is where we are behind compared to other countries. Now, to do this we need more water in our diets, along with low fat low carbohydrate recipes.

Low Carb Diets

Low carb diets are hot! Look at Amazon, and you will find numerous books about this type of diets. The same thing happens at Ebay and at your mortar and brick book store. You can’t even buy a newspaper without some new low car diet book is just there on the shelf…

With the success of the Atkins diet, several other low carb diets have emerged onto the market promising quick and effective weight loss. Diets like South Beach, the Sonoma Diet and The Zone are all low carb diets that revolve around the same concept of eating less carbohydrates and more proteins.

The thought behind all of these low carb diets is that we are eating far too many simple carbohydrates such as items high in sugars, as well as “bad” carbohydrates like white breads and pastas. If less simple, or bad, carbohydrates are eaten and there is more consumption of whole grains and proteins, then it is believed that the average person will lose weight.
